Theories of Atlantis started not as a skate brand but as a media project. Founder Josh Stewart built a cult following with his Static video series documenting raw, underground street skating, then launched the Theories website to platform other indie filmmakers — eventually growing it into a full hardgoods brand.
Rooted in East Coast (especially NYC) skate culture, Theories champions the underground scene often ignored by mainstream skate media. The name nods to conspiracy theories and cultural oddities, fitting its mysterious, non-mainstream identity. Beyond decks and apparel, it still functions partly as a media outlet, publishing videos and content from the skate world.
