Creature was founded in 1994 by Russ Pope and Jason Adams in Santa Cruz under NHS Distribution. With a team including Barker Barrett and Darren Navarrette, the brand stood out for unique graphics and original style during a tough time in skateboarding.
After Pope and Adams left, NHS paused production. Years later, Navarrette and Lee Charron brought Creature back and turned it into a staple of modern skateboarding.
Creature is known for bold graphics, wide decks, cruisers, and high-impact shapes. Their Cold Press Construction uses 7 ply North American maple pressed without heat for consistent pop and feel. VX decks use five ply maple reinforced with Quad X material for lighter stronger boards that last longer.
Creature also makes apparel and accessories with the same bold style as their boards. From grip tape and tees to hats and rails, the artwork stands out.
