Snow Wax

Waxing is a necessary component for snowboarding and is essential for guiding the water under your board through the grooves of your base. It's pretty simple to do yourself, just melt some wax onto your board, spread an even thin layer all over, wait for it to set and then scrape it off. Paying your local shop to do it for you can be a great convenience but multiple times a season can add up monetarily. Besides saving a few bucks, it's also an important bonding moment, kind of like feeding your horse. You have to feed your horse to keep it healthy and make it ride well and a snowboard is no different. Even when you're ready to put your board away for the season, a healthy coating of wax keeps the base from drying out and your edges from rusting. It's also good for the mind. A couple of beverages with the homies and a snowboard wax session is essential for truly experiencing the culture of snowboarding.

So how do you pick the right wax? Snowboard wax comes in a couple of tempuratures ranging from warm all the way to cool cold. It's important to keep in mind that the wax temp is really refering to the ground temp (not the air). Additionally, there's some additives like Fluoro and graphite which can arguably increase the glide of your base. This is purely preference and in our opinion, both work great.

Last thing is that besides hot wax, there's also rub on/speed wax. This is meant for topping up right before you ride. just apply, rub in with your cork, and ride. We sell waxing kits, rub on wax, hot wax, and individual scrapers so don't be afraid to take maintenance matters into your own hands!
