Created by graffiti artist C.R. Stecyk III, The dog town cross serves as a testament to the originality of DogTown Skateboards. DogTown, named for the area between Santa Monica and Venice beach, emerged as a hub for counterculture and skateboarding in the 1970s. Shortly after the DogTown cross was discovered, Jim “Red Dog” Muir and Mike Muir came together to form suicidal tendencies, utilizing the iconic DogTown graphic on their boards. After 40+ years of production, DogTown still stands strong, producing unique boards with variations of the original DogTown cross and supporting skaters like Mikey O’Keefe. Recent collaborations like the VansxDT shoe and Ozzy OsbournexDT deck show that DogTown fully intends to remain as a force to be reckoned with in the skate world.Video productions like the Lords of DogTown and DogTown and Z Boys documentaries have further cemented DTxST into skate culture, capturing the raw energy and rebellious spirit of DogTown Skateboards and allowing aspiring and expert skaters alike to immerse themselves in the rich history and evolution of the culture in connection to the brand. To this day DTxST remains skater owned and operated, preserving the gritty ethos of Venice Beach, CA skaters.
