Since 1977, Alva skateboards has been an icon owning many of the firsts of the skate world. As the first to use layered Canadian maple plywood, the first skater-owned skate company, and with Tony Alva being the first to successfully land a frontside air and being considered the grandfather of vertical skating, Alva truly lives up to its reputation.
The boards themselves first appear to be on the simpler side, with low-key graphics, but taking a look at the quality of construction and the attention to detail with the shaping, it becomes obvious why Alva is a first choice for many.
