The original Vato Rat Bones stemmed from Craig Stecyk's and Stacy Peralta's Dogtown and Zephyr days. The Vato Rat became Powell Peralta's version of street art from the 1970's making references to the Santa Monica and Venice style. This deck was originally released in 1983.
