The company was founded in North Vancouver, British Columbia in !989 by Dave Lane and originally created mainly climbing products and functional activewear. In 1996, they obtained a license from W.L. Gore & Associates and began using the fabric Gore-Tex in their products. This launched Arc’Teryx into the world of outdoor technical apparel. The idea that a company could create “Evolutionary” products seemed to be a stretch at the time. But today, that is exactly what they have done. Their LEAF(Law Enforcement and Armed Forces) program has developed some of the essential gear for the brave men and women that protect and serve us every day. Further proving that the products they create are held to a higher standard. One of the products we brought in this season is the Zeta SL jacket. This jacket uses Gore-Tex Paclite so you can be assured it is completely waterproof. But in addition to its ability to keep you dry, it is extremely easy to pack, making this a go to jacket for adventures off the beaten trail where you might have to break it out at any given moment when the weather isn’t playing along. Having the ability to pack a jacket in a small space and have it be as useful as the Zeta is,is crucial for anyone who wants to do some serious backcountry trekking. The fully taped seams will give you even more confidence that rain, wind and snow are not getting in, while breathability is maintained at an amazing rate. We also brought in the Brize 25L and 32L. Both are an amazing day pack for a trek to your favorite hiking spot or being used as an everyday carry backpack. With reinforced, breathable back panels, packing heavy won’t be a strain.
